Job summary

Meridian Health Services in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a Medical Assistant to support patients of all ages in our Primary Care office. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm, performing vitals, room prep, and patient documentation to support providers.

The ideal candidate has MA program graduation, CMA/NCMA/CCMA/RMA certification preferred, and 6–12 months of clinical experience. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are also required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• High school diploma or equivalency required; Associates degree preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred (CMA, NCMA, CCMA, or RMA).
• 6–12 months of clinical experience preferred.
• A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through their visit and prepare them for provider assessments.
• Take vitals, prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain supplies.
• Support providers with exams, minor procedures, and patient documentation.
• Perform phone triage, manage labs and records, and follow infection-control protocols.
• Conduct screenings (PHQ-9, Edinburgh, GAD-7) and assist with telehealth.
• Prepare medications, maintain certifications, and protect patient confidentiality.
• Complete daily/weekly tasks, attend meetings, and uphold OSHA/CLIA standards.
