Job summary

Meridian Health Services in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support patients across ages in our Primary Care office. You will prepare exam rooms, take vitals, assist with exams and procedures, and ensure accurate documentation to support high-quality care.

The role is full-time, with regular Monday–Friday hours, and offers PTO, holidays, benefits, and opportunities for professional growth within a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• High school diploma or equivalency required; Associates degree preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred (CMA, NCMA, CCMA, or RMA).
• 6–12 months of clinical experience preferred.
• Valid driver\'s license with driving record meeting Meridian policy, reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through their visit and prepare them for provider assessments.
• Take vitals, prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain supplies.
• Support providers with exams, minor procedures, and patient documentation.
• Perform phone triage, manage labs and records, and follow infection-control protocols.
• Conduct screenings (PHQ-9, Edinburgh, GAD-7) and assist with telehealth.
• Prepare medications, maintain certifications, and protect patient confidentiality.
• Complete daily/weekly tasks, attend meetings, and uphold OSHA/CLIA standards.
