Job summary

UnityPoint Health – Meriter is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our patient care team in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. The MA will perform technical and clerical tasks, support clinic operations, and help deliver safe, high-quality care.

The role may fill in for phlebotomy as needed and requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification, CPR, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (One year program) or completion of an accredited LPN/EMT program, or current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to work with a variety of patient ages and conditions.
• Excellent organizational and service-excellence skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication and professional presentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical and clerical tasks in ambulatory settings as part of the patient care team.
• Support clinic operations and deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
• Collaborate with RNs, PA/NPs, and clinicians to ensure efficient workflow.
• Fill in for phlebotomy as needed and maintain patient flow.
