Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II to join our Milford OBGYN clinic. The role supports patient care, performs EKGs, phlebotomy and point-of-care tests, and may administer injections within the scope of practice. A HS diploma, BLS/HS, and MA credential are required, with credentialing within 1 year.

A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS/Heart Saver certification from AHA is required or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health must be obtained within 1 year of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to examination rooms and records vital signs. Documents patient health status and progress.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests per clinic standards.
• May prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections per scope of practice.
• Assists in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Reviews lab results and alerts physicians to abnormal findings.

Education

BLS or Heart Saver certification from American Heart Association

Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health
