Position Summary
The Clinical Research Medical Assistant will support the research team by helping perform clinical, laboratory, and administrative tasks that ensure smooth and compliant study operations. This role assists with data collection, specimen handling, patient interactions, and general study documentation while maintaining strict attention to detail and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform core Medical Assistant duties including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, and assisting providers during neurology clinic and research visits.
- Perform blood draws, specimen collection, ECG setup, and other protocol-approved procedures within scope of practice.
- Prepare exam rooms, maintain clean and organized clinical spaces, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Support neurology research trials by assisting with study visit flow, patient prescreening, and collection of required study documents.
- Process, label, package, and ship research specimens according to study protocols and regulations.
- Enter clinical and research data into electronic medical records and study databases accurately and on time.
- Maintain organized, complete, and audit-ready documentation, including study logs and inventory tracking.
- Provide administrative and front-desk support as needed, including scheduling, reminder calls, and patient communication.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and research staff and assist with general clinic and research site operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or technical program completion required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant
