Job summary

Rocky Mountain Health Care Services seeks a Medical Assistant to prepare exam rooms, take vitals and collect patient history in our clinic network. You will document data in EMR, assist clinicians, and perform phlebotomy as needed, while ensuring patient confidentiality.

The ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program with certification preferred, and possess strong communication and computer skills. Travel to multiple clinic sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
  • Certified or registered CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA preferred and must pass exam within 640 hours of employment.
  • One year of experience with a frail or elderly population preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares equipment and rooms for examination of participants.
  • Takes vital signs and weights of participants; records information in electronic medical record.
  • Takes brief history of reason for visit.
  • Monitors participants and reports any variances to normal to the Clinic Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Physician for further assessment.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all company procedures, results, and information about participants, clients or families.
  • Phlebotomy services as needed, including venipuncture, processing specimens and preparing specimens for laboratory pickup.
  • Travel to all clinic sites as needed to support clinic coverage needs.
  • Other duties as requested/assigned.

The employee will be expected to take and pass a Medical Assistant examination from one of the above listed Certifying Agencies within or immediately upon completing 640 hours (4 months) of employment.
