Job summary

Mosaic Health, LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our clinical team in Austin, TX. You will check in patients, take histories, obtain vitals, assist providers, administer immunizations, manage lab results, and coordinate follow-up instructions. This role has Monday–Friday hours with paid holidays and benefits.

The ideal candidate is dependable, courteous, detail-oriented, and able to work across departments to deliver high-quality patient care and maintain cleanliness of exam rooms.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and prepare for office visits or procedures.
• Obtain vitals and perform in-office procedures (EKG, spirometry, peak flow, bone density, nebulizers).
• Relay lab test results from in-office testing.
• Obtain patient histories (medical, surgical, social, etc.).
• Record medications and allergies for each patient.
• Assist physicians and advanced practitioners with examinations and procedures.
• Prepare and administer immunizations and injections as ordered.
• Monitor patients after injections/vaccinations.
• Handle calls from patients, pharmacies, other offices, labs, and insurers.
• Notify patients of test results and provide appropriate follow-up instructions.
• Review refill requests and route per protocol.
• Clean and sanitize exam/procedure rooms and sterilize instruments.

Job Description Summary

• Effectively check in and prepare patient for office visit/examination/procedures.
• Correctly obtain vital signs, perform in office procedures/treatments (EKG, spirometry, peak flow, bone density, nebulizer treatments), and relay laboratory test results of any laboratory testing done in office.
• Correctly obtain patient histories (Medical, Surgical, Social, etc.).
• Record medication and allergies of individual patients.
• Assist Physician/Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner with examinations or in office procedures.
• Correctly prepare and administer immunizations and injections ordered by Physician/Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner.
• Appropriately monitor patients after injections/vaccinations.
• Effectively handle incoming phone calls from patients (or pertinent to patients), pharmacies, other physician's offices, testing resources (Radiology, laboratories, etc.), and insurance companies.
• Accurately notify patients of various test results and communicate appropriate follow up instructions to assure proper course of action is directed.
• Review refill request from pharmacies and follow in office/assigned doctor's protocol to refill or route refill requests.
• Clean and sanitize examination/procedure rooms.
• Clean, wrap, and sterilize instruments.

Compensation Range: $20.00 to $30.00

The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
