Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and patients in a fast-paced office. You will assist with exams, minor procedures, X-rays, post-op care, and patient education, while handling room setup, documentation, and insurance verifications.

The role requires a MA program or 1+ year experience, CMA/RMA preferred, and strong communication skills. Travel between local office locations may be needed; MS 365 proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience
• CMA or RMA certification preferred
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred)

• Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused
• Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting)
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance

Job description

The Medical Assistant provides essential support and administrative services to the office, the doctors, and the patients in a fast-paced doctor’s office. This person will be involved in a wide spectrum of tasks focused around assisting the Physician in all minor in office procedures.

Medical Assistant Pay Range:

• $19 - $21 per hour based on experience
