Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for Wichita Dermatology @ Aesthetics. The role supports dermatologists in the exam room, rooms patients, and assists with procedures. Travel between clinic locations may be required.

Monday–Friday, 7:50 AM–5:00 PM, with benefits and professional growth opportunities. The ideal candidate has at least 1+ years in a medical office and certification as a Medical Assistant, with willingness to complete Forefront Derm Tech certification if

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments
• Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: surgical photographs, biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and curettage, I&D, Mohs surgery, phototherapy, injections, Koh preps, Tzank preps, Dermabrasion, patch testing, blue light

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information


• Scribing information for the dermatologist


• Providing post op wound care to patients


• Drawing blood and suture removal


• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave


• Excisions


• Electrodessication and curettage


• I&D


• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery


• Phototherapy


• Injections


• Koh preps


• Trichograms


• Tzank preps


• Dermabrasion


• Patch testing


• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred


• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus


• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment


• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed


• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems


• Must possess organizational and communication skills


• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors


• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
