Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join the Health & Wellness Center in Wichita, KS. The role includes interviewing patients, taking vital signs, maintaining health records, preparing rooms, administering medications, and handling front-desk tasks.

State-regulated procedures and EKG diagnostics are part of the duties. Candidates must have CMA certification or an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands-on externship, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• National certification in Medical Assisting or a Premise Health approved program with externship.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA/ARC).
• State Lab Certificate (NV only).
• CMA certification from recognized bodies (e.g., AAMA, NCCT, NCM, AMT) or Board approved equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and measure vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height).
• Maintain patient health records with accuracy.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications including injections; perform labs, EKGs, and other diagnostic procedures as allowed by state rules.
• Perform administrative tasks at front desk, scheduling, follow-ups, and supply orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

• Clinic Schedule: Mon - Fri 7:00 am - 6:00 pm; Sat 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
• Proposed Schedule For this Role:
  • Mon 7:00 am - 6:00 pm
  • Thu 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
  • Fri 7:00 am - 6:00 pm
  • Sat 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
• Current certification with hands on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
• State Lab Certificate (NV only)
• CMA certification required from the American Association of Medical Assistants, the National Center of Competency Testing, the National Certification Medical Association, American Medical Technologists, or any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board of Medical Examiners (South Carolina only)
