Job summary

Axis Spine & Pain Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Middle Georgia. You will work with physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure a warm patient experience, prepare patients for visits, assist with appointments, and maintain clean, stocked rooms. EMR documentation is essential, and experience with pain management helps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant program required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Experience in pain management or specialty care preferred; new graduates welcome to apply.
• Experience with C-arm fluoroscopy and knowledge of procedures including RFA and SI joint injections preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR systems; eClinicalWorks experience a plus.
• We prefer at least two years of experience but are willing to train newer teammates with the right focus on patient care, service, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding service, compassion, and care to patients as part of the care team.
• Prepare patients and information for visits with providers.
• Assist with medical appointments as instructed by the provider.
• Clean, prepare, and stock rooms.
• Communicate with patients and other providers about care as instructed by the provider.
• Document accurately about the visit in the EMR.

They will work as part of the care team with the Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to ensure the patient has the best possible experience. Duties include: providing a warm and welcoming patient experience while preparing the patient and their information for their visit with their provider, assisting with the medical appointment as instructed by the provider, cleaning, preparing and stocking rooms, communicating with the patients and other providers about their care as instructed by the provider and documenting accurately about the visit in the electronic medical record.The right person for this role will delight in providing a great experience to the patient, will have a curious mind that always looks for a way to improve, and be compassionate for patients experiencing chronic and/or acute pain.
