Job summary

Synapticure is seeking a Medical Assistant on the Clinical Support team to deliver high-quality care to patients with complex neurological conditions. This remote, full-time role partners with providers to ensure timely, coordinated care and prepares documentation for neurology visits.

The ideal candidate has a strong clinical foundation and is eager to develop specialized neuro care skills in a startup environment that values collaboration and compassionate patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Active Medical Assistant Certification.
  • 2+ years of MA experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High technical fluency with computer-based work and videoconferencing tools.
  • Reliable high speed internet and a HIPAA compliant remote workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Manage virtual patient rooming, collect history, and prepare documentation for neurology visits.
  • Score standardized assessments, including the Montreal Cognitive Assessment.
  • Review complex medical records, labs, and imaging tests to identify gaps for real-time decisions.
  • Support patients across tracks like the GUIDE Program and Anti Amyloid Therapy program.
  • Coordinate testing and documentation with infusion centers and imaging facilities.
  • Coordinate medical records, testing, and referrals for continuity of care.
  • Facilitate referrals for respite care and home safety assessments.
  • Escalate urgent issues to providers as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, care coordinators, and navigators to deliver patient-centered care.
  • Communicate with patients and caregivers with HIPAA-compliant advocacy across insurance and billing.

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant on our Clinical Support team, you will play an integral role in delivering high quality care to patients with complex neurological conditions. This is not a traditional medical assistant position. You will serve as a trusted clinical partner, working closely with providers and cross-functional teams to ensure patients receive timely, coordinated, and compassionate care.The ideal candidate has a strong clinical foundation, enjoys solving complex problems, and is eager to develop specialized clinical expertise in neurological care. The Day to Day
  • Act as a trusted partner to providers by managing virtual patient rooming, gathering clinical history, and preparing all necessary documentation for neurology visits.
  • Perform and accurately score standardized clinical assessments, including the Montreal Cognitive Assessment.
  • Review complex medical records, lab results, and imaging reports to identify clinical gaps and support real-time clinical decision-making.
  • Support patients across specialized clinic tracks, including the GUIDE Program and the Anti Amyloid Therapy program.
  • Assist in preparing patients for specialty therapies by coordinating required testing and obtaining supporting documentation with infusion centers and imaging facilities.
  • Coordinate the collection of medical records, diagnostic testing, and referrals to ensure complete continuity of care.
  • Facilitate crucial patient referrals for respite care and home safety assessments to support families in the home.
  • Recognize urgent or clinically significant issues and elevate concerns appropriately to providers or other members of the care team.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with physicians, advanced practice providers, care coordinators, and navigators to deliver unified, patient centered care.
  • Communicate compassionately with patients and caregivers while providing HIPAA compliant advocacy support across insurance, billing, and clinical hurdles.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active Medical Assistant Certification.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • High technical fluency with computer-based work and videoconferencing tools.
  • Reliable high speed internet connection and a private, HIPAA compliant remote workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • Prior experience working in telemedicine or a virtual care delivery model.
  • Experience working within a startup or an organization that has experienced rapid growth and change.
  • Prior experience or strong interest in specialized neurological patient care
Pay & Benefits
  • Position is full time/non-exempt with competitive pay and benefits package including health insurance offering. Compensation range for this role is competitive depending on the candidate’s level of experience

Travel Requirements

This position is remote and work would be based in your home. The necessary technology would be provided to work out of your home. Travel for occasional meetings may be expected.
