Job summary

Sentara MJH Medical Group Admin Offices in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Medical Assistant non-certified to support clinical and administrative tasks. The role offers about 32 hours per week with shifts typically 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

You will primarily provide patient care with some front desk duties, and you may float among ten Primary Care practices in the Charlottesville/Waynesboro area.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of clinical/administrative experience.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification must be received within nine months of employment: CCMA, CMA, RMA or EMT; BLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Primarily a clinical MA role with cross-training and front desk support as needed.
• Perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under supervision.
• Float between practices to meet staffing needs across 10 primary care sites.

Overview

Sentara MJH Medical Group Admin Offices is seeking a Medical Assistant non-certified in Charlottesville, VA! Job Summary Hours: 32 hrs/week. Schedule based on practice needs Monday-Friday between 8AM and 7PM. Most shifts will be 8AM-4:30 PM or 8AM-5PM.

Duties

Primarily a clinical MA role, with cross‑training and support for front desk duties as needed.

Home Location

5th Street Station serves as the home office, but the role will float to all designated practices as needed.

Flexibility

Must be willing to float between practices as needed based on staffing demands.

Coverage Area

Supports 10 Primary Care practices across the Charlottesville/Waynesboro market.

Role Details

The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Experience

One year of clinical/administrative experience required. Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Certification/Licensure

Certification must be received within (9) nine months of employment in one of the following certification programs: CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or CMA- Certified Medical Assistant or RMA- Registered Medical Assistant or EMT- Emergency Medical Technician. BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Compensation

We provide market‑competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full‑time employment is $20.31 - $29.92 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on‑call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
