Job summary

COPE Community Services in Tucson, AZ is seeking an entry-level Medical Assistant to join our health care team. Under direct supervision, the MA will assist the provider with primary care duties, support patient exams, blood draws, injections, and patient education, and help maintain efficient patient flow.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, and requires a high school diploma or GED along with completion of an accredited MA certification program; applicants must

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certification program
• Must be at least 19 years of age
• Preferred: Must be 21 years of age
• Must possess a valid AZ driver’s license with a clean or acceptable driving record
• Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

• Assist the provider with primary care duties, patient care (exams, procedures, blood draws, injections, patient education) and maintain efficient patient flow.
• Prepare patients for visits, collect and record necessary data for health, weight, medication and allergies.

Responsibilities

The MA will also assist the provider by preparing patients for visits, collecting and recording necessary data for health, weight, medication and allergies. Responsibilities include performing miscellaneous clinic support tasks including filing, answering phones and maintaining the provider schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Written and verifiable proof of completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certification program
• Must be at least 19 years of age
• Preferred: Must be 21 years of age
• Must possess a valid AZ driver’s license with a clean or acceptable driving record
• Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
