Job summary

Coastal Health in Jacksonville and southeastern Georgia is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Primary Care team. You will room patients, take vital signs, prepare for exams, assist providers with procedures, and maintain a clean clinical area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years experience in the medical field preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Excellent patient service skills and ability to multitask in a busy medical office.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist providers with exams and in-office procedures.
• Administer medications and injections as directed.
• Perform EKGs and other clinical duties as needed.
• Collect and prepare specimens.
• Complete accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with patient calls, messages, and follow-up.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked exam rooms.
• Monitor and maintain clinical supplies.
• Follow HIPAA, infection control, and safety guidelines.
• Provide professional and compassionate patient care.
• Work closely with providers and office staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Medical Assistant – Primary Care
