Job summary

Bayview Physicians Group in Suffolk, VA seeks a Medical Assistant to deliver compassionate patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will greet patients, assist providers with clinical duties, and ensure precise documentation in the EMR.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and active Medical Assistant certification; completion of a MA program is preferred. Travel to satellite locations may be required; full-time benefits are included.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming, positive experience for patients and families.
  • Support providers with clinical and administrative tasks.
  • Room patients, record vital signs, and update EMR charts.
  • Administer medications/injections following orders and safety protocols.
  • Maintain up-to-date patient records including medications and allergies.
  • Answer calls and route messages to keep clinic operations smooth.

What You’ll Do
  • Create a welcoming, positive experience for every patient and family member

  • Administer medications and injections per provider orders, following all documentation and safety protocols
  • Keep patient records up to date, including medications, allergies, and medical history
  • Answer phone calls, respond to patient needs, and route messages appropriately
  • Help keep clinic operations running smoothly in a fast-paced setting
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Active and appropriate Medical Assistant or nursing certification/licensure required
  • Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and nursing practices
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, high-energy environment
  • Flexibility to travel to satellite locations as needed
