Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing leadership. You will perform administrative and clinical tasks, including taking histories, vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations in a fast-paced health system.

Under supervision, you will greet patients, document information, assist during procedures, and help maintain a clean clinical environment across Oakland County campuses. BLS-C certification preferred at hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• MA program externship or 1-year clinical experience with MA program.
• Alternate qualifies: LPN/EMT/paramedic with 1-year clinical experience.
• Current BLS-C by hire or orientation.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

What You Will Do

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years, OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years, OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
