Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit, MI is seeking a Medical Assistant for a 40-hour day shift in Family Practice. You will assist providers, take histories, record vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and handle administrative tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Under supervision, you’ll contribute to a patient-centered experience, using EPIC EMR and clinical skills to support high-quality care in a large health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant program with externship (160 hours) or equivalent clinical experience.
• Current BLS-C on hire or by end of orientation.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years, OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years, OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
