Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Michigan is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing leadership in ambulatory settings, performing administrative and clinical tasks to ensure a seamless patient experience.

You will greet patients, collect histories and vital signs, prep for exams, assist with procedures, and help maintain smooth clinic operations while adhering to BLS and MA credential requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant program with 160-hour externship or 1 year clinical MA experience within the last 5 years, or current MA certification with 1 year experience.
• Current BLS-C certification required on hire or by orientation.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms.
• Obtain and document accurate medical histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, assisting providers as needed.

Required Qualifications

What You Will Need:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a 160-hour clinical externship, OR one year of clinical medical assisting experience within the past five years, OR current professionally recognized Medical Assistant Certification with one year of experience, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/EMT with one year of clinical experience, OR military-trained medical personnel with one year of clinical experience.
• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
