Job summary

ExpressCare Urgent Care Centers in Salisbury, MD currently has immediate openings for Medical Assistants. The role supports providers, performs triage, vitals, basic labs, medication administration, and patient education in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate will have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program with externship, CPR certification, and clinical experience. Competitive hourly pay ($17-$20) plus overtime and full benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and clinical externship required.
• CPR certification required.
• CMA/RMA/CCMA certification preferred.
• Minimum one year of clinical experience in a physician’s office or hospital preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work 13+ hour shifts and lift 25 lbs.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Medical history intake and a detailed triage documented in EMR.
• Vital signs measurement: blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, height/weight.
• Basic lab procedures: EKGs, phlebotomy, urine collection, influenza swabs.
• Medication administration under physician supervision.
• Prepare exam rooms with instruments and supplies.
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions.
• Complete checklists, inventory, and logs.

We currently have immediate openings at our Salisbury location- 659 S. Salisbury Blvd Suite 2, Salisbury MD 21801

Job Responsibilities:

• Medical history intake: Perform a detailed triage and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Vital sign measurement: Measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and height/weight
• Basic lab procedures: Perform simple laboratory tests such as EKGs, phlebotomy, urine specimen collection, and influenza nasal swabs
• Medication administration: Prepare and administer oral and injectable medications under physician supervision
• Exam room preparation: Setup exam rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
• Patient Education: Provide patients with basic health information and instructions regarding discharge papers and medications given by the provider
• Administrative tasks: Accurately complete checklists, inventory, and other written logs
• Education:
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and clinical externship (Required)
• Licenses & Certifications:
• CMA, RMA, or CCMA Certification preferred
• CPR Certification (Required)
• Work Experience:
• Minimum one year of clinical experience in a physician’s office or hospital (preferred)
