Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Rochester Hills is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing leadership in ambulatory care. You will perform administrative and clinical tasks, greet patients, take histories, record vitals, and assist during examinations to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role requires a medical assisting credential (externship preferred or equivalent experience), basic computer skills, and current BLS-C.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• MA credential with externship or ≥1 year clinical experience in medical assisting.
• Current BLS-C certification.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

• Greet and escort patients to the exam room, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
• Obtain and record accurate medical histories from patients.
• Measure and document vital signs, preparing patients for examinations or procedures.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient care delivery.
• Perform a variety of clinical tasks related to ambulatory patient care.
• Travel at least once a week to another office location. Main office is Rochester Hills, secondary locations in Southfield and Macomb

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), or graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years, or current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years, or Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
