Job summary

Chickahominy Family Practice in Quinton, VA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical care and patient experience. You will welcome, room, and triage patients, take vitals, document in the EMR, and help maintain smooth patient flow throughout the day.

• Medical Assistant experience preferred, but will train the right person.
• Comfort with computers and electronic medical records (EMR).
• Strong communication skills with a patient-first mindset.

• Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and triage patients with warmth and professionalism.
• Record vital signs and document accurately in the EMR.
• Keep patient flow running smoothly throughout the day.
• Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms.
• Communicate with patients—return calls and address clinical questions.
• Administer injections and coordinate medication delivery.
• Manage prior authorizations and specialty referrals.
• Handle lab orders, specimen processing, and diagnostics logistics.
• Support providers and teammates with day-to-day clinical needs.
