Job summary

Prosper Health in Prosper, TX seeks a patient-focused Medical Assistant for our evening clinical team. You will room patients, take vitals, and serve as a main point of contact for patients over the phone.

Responsibilities include EMR documentation in AdvancedMD, basic procedures, wound care, and ensuring exam rooms and the X-ray area are ready for patients. This is a stable, weekday-evening role with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Texas license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; MA program strongly preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Experience in urgent care or busy clinic settings preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR and patient communications.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients, record medical histories and obtain vital signs.
• Answer calls, schedule appointments, and relay messages to providers.
• Assist with basic procedures, wound care, and point-of-care testing.
• Document encounters, labs, and imaging in AdvancedMD.
• Sanitize and stock exam rooms and X-ray suite for patient flow.

The Role:

As a Medical Assistant, you will be a vital part of our evening clinical team. You will be responsible for standard clinical support—such as rooming patients and taking vitals, and serving as a point of contact for our patients over the phone.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Intake: Greet and room patients, record accurate medical histories, and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration).
• Patient Communications: Answer incoming patient calls, assist with general inquiries, schedule or adjust appointments, and relay messages between patients and providers.
• Clinical Support: Assist providers with basic medical procedures, wound care, and point-of-care testing as needed.
• EMR Management: Accurately document all patient encounters, lab results, and imaging in AdvancedMD.
• Facility Maintenance: Ensure exam rooms and the X-ray suite are sanitized, fully stocked, and prepared for incoming patients.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• license in the State of Texas is absolutely required.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred.
• Certifications: Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Experience: Previous experience in an urgent care, primary care, or fast-paced clinic setting is highly preferred.
• Skills: Exceptional patient care and communication skills, strong telephone etiquette, attention to detail, and proficiency with EMR systems (experience with AdvancedMD is a plus).
