Job summary

Live Urgent Care LLC in the Northeast is hiring Medical Assistants to join our state-of-the-art clinics in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. You will escort patients, take histories, perform vitals, and support providers with basic lab tests and medication administration.

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a medical setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; MA certification preferred.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to examination rooms and take medical histories.
  • Perform vitals and basic lab tests; assist with EKGs and phlebotomy if needed.
  • Administer medications under supervision; verify insurance and schedule.
  • Greet patients and support a tidy, well-stocked clinic.
  • Collaborate with team to deliver excellent patient experience.

Your Role and Impact:
Patient Care:

Escort patients to examination rooms, take medical histories, and perform vitals

Lab Work:

Conduct basic lab tests such as urinalysis, blood draws, and COVID swabs

Medication Administration:

Administer medications under the supervision of a medical provider

Administrative Support:

Greet patients, handle phone calls, verify insurance, and manage appointments

Team Collaboration:

Ensure the clinic is tidy and well-stocked, and support your co-workers to provide the best patient experience

What We’re Looking For:
Experience:

Minimum of 1 year in a medical setting

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Requirements
Education:
  • Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified Medical Assistant program is preferred
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting; experience in Urgent Care is preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families
  • Willingness to take initiative and responsibility for actions
  • Open to constructive criticism and feedback when necessary
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and third-party vendors
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of medical procedures, equipment, and instruments
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Competence with common PC applications including Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with EKGs and Phlebotomy preferred but not required

  • Occasionally required to lift moderate weights (25-50 pounds)
