Live Urgent Care in New Jersey and Pennsylvania is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care, take medical histories, and perform vitals with a focus on compassionate service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certified MA program preferred.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • CPR and First Aid certification current.
  • Minimum 1 year in a medical setting.
  • Urgent Care experience preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships with staff, patients and families.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures, equipment, and instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to examination rooms, take histories, and record vitals.
  • Conduct basic lab tests such as urinalysis, blood draws, and COVID swabs.
  • Administer medications under supervision of a medical provider.
  • Greet patients, answer phones, verify insurance, and schedule appointments.
  • Maintain tidy clinic and stock supplies; support team to ensure great patient experience.

Position Details:

Your Role and Impact:
  • Patient Care: Escort patients to examination rooms, take medical histories, and perform vitals

Requirements

Education:

  • Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified Medical Assistant program is preferred
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting; experience in Urgent Care is preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families
  • Willingness to take initiative and responsibility for actions
  • Open to constructive criticism and feedback when necessary
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and third-party vendors

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of medical procedures, equipment, and instruments
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Competence with common PC applications including Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with EKGs and Phlebotomy preferred but not required

  • Occasionally required to lift moderate weights (25-50 pounds)
