Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to support our Health Center in Pella, IA. You will interview patients, record vital signs, prepare rooms, and assist at the front desk while supporting clinical tasks such as injections, lab work, EKGs, and specimen handling.

Ideal candidates hold national MA certification or an accredited MA program with externship, plus current BLS certification. This on-site role offers flexible hours within our clinic schedule and comprehensive employer

Qualifications

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization.
• Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed (online coursework not accepted).
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height).
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations.
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

MA certification or degree (national MA program)

BLS / Lifesaving trained (AHA/ARC)

As a PRN Medical Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Center located in Pella, IA.

Schedule

RN as needed during clinic hours for 2 Nearby Sites

Clinic Hours: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Thu 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

What You’ll Do
