Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support for the Mobile Health Unit in the Albuquerque area. You will work with providers and the care team to support efficient patient visits, assist with procedures, document accurately, and create a welcoming experience for patients in a mobile setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior Healthcare experience preferred
• Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 12 months of hire
• BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS)
• Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe

Responsibilities

• Perform MA procedures under provider supervision within MA scope of work
• Assist with procedures as determined by provider
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
• Perform basic foot care
• May perform regulatory audits as designated by Clinic Manager
• Assist with visit closure
• Collaborate with care team to meet patient needs efficiently
• May perform scribe duties after PMG scribe training

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
• Assists with procedures as determined by provider
