Job summary

Coastal Health is seeking a dependable Medical Assistant to join its growing orthopedic team. The role involves assisting providers, rooming patients, taking vital signs, and maintaining exam rooms across locations to support daily operations.

The ideal candidate has previous Medical Assistant experience and is comfortable working in a fast-paced orthopedic setting. Familiarity with Athenahealth EMR is a plus, and flexibility to float between sites is required.

Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Orthopedic experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records; Athenahealth experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care and daily clinical operations.
• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and update medical histories.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures as needed.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR.
• Support patient flow and help keep appointments running efficiently.
• Float throughout the orthopedic offices to assist staff and provide coverage where needed.
