SIMEDHealth is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant for our Physiatry clinic in Ocala. You will ensure accurate patient data in the EHR, greet patients, document vital signs, and support clinicians with refills and procedures.

The role requires BLS/CPR certification, and prior EHR experience is preferred. On-site work is required, with comprehensive benefits available.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or National Certification preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• 1-2 years of experience with electronic health records preferred.
• 1+ year experience in private medical office or hospital setting preferred.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and complete patient information in the EHR.
• Welcoming patients to the exam room and documenting vital signs in the EHR.
• Coordinate medication refill requests between patients and providers.
• Administer prescribed medications (injections, oral, topical) per training.
• Assist with procedures (EKGs, spirometry, dressings, wound care) as needed.
• Triaging patient calls and responding to medical inquiries.
• Assist with referrals and authorizations for procedures and surgeries.

SIMEDHealth is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Full Time Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team in our Physiatry clinic in our Ocala office. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the efficient flow of our clinical operations. Your commitment to customer service, safety, and professionalism will directly impact the patient experience.

What You'll Need:

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or National Certification (preferred)

Your Role Will Involve:

• Welcoming patients to the exam room and efficiently documenting their vital signs in the EHR.
• Serving as a key point of contact for medication refill requests, coordinating between patients and providers.
• Administering prescribed medications (injections, oral, topical) according to your training and qualifications.
• Skillfully assisting with and performing various patient procedures (EKGs, spirometry, dressings, wound care, etc.) based on your expertise and clinic needs.
• Triaging patient phone calls with care and providing helpful responses to their medical inquiries.
• Proactively assisting patients with the often-complex process of referrals and authorizations for procedures and surgeries.
