SIMEDHealth in Gainesville is hiring a Full Time Medical Assistant to support the Urology clinic. You will accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record, greet patients, and record vital signs in the EMR.

You’ll coordinate medication refills between patients and providers, and administer prescribed medications as trained. You will also assist with procedures (EKGs, spirometry, wound care) and triage calls, helping with referrals and authorizations to ensure smooth

Qualifications

• Current BLS/CPR certification is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or national certification preferred.
• 1–2 years of EHR experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in a private medical office or hospital setting preferred.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and complete patient information is readily available in the EMR.
• Welcome patients to the exam room and document vital signs in the EMR.
• Serve as a key contact for medication refill requests, coordinating between patients and providers.
• Administer prescribed medications (injections, oral, topical) according to training and qualifications.
• Assist with and perform various patient procedures (EKGs, spirometry, dressings, wound care, etc.).
• Triaging patient phone calls with care and providing responses to medical inquiries.
• Assist with referrals and authorizations for procedures and surgeries.

What You'll Need:
