SIMEDHealth in High Springs, FL is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant for our Primary Care clinic. You will help ensure accurate patient information in the EMR, greet patients, record vital signs, and support physicians throughout visits.

The role involves administering medications as prescribed, assisting with procedures (EKG, spirometry, wound care), triaging calls, handling referrals and authorizations, and performing phlebotomy as needed. On-site only with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or national certification (preferred).
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• 1–2 years of EMR/EHR experience.
• At least 1 year as Medical Assistant in a private medical office or hospital (Primary Care or similar).

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient information in the EMR.
• Greet patients and document vital signs in the EMR.
• Coordinate medication refills between patients and providers.
• Administer prescribed medications (injections, oral, topical).
• Assist with procedures (EKG, spirometry, dressings, wound care).
• Triaging patient calls and respond to medical inquiries.
• Assist with referrals and authorizations for procedures and surgeries.
• Perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Support physicians and APPs during care and procedures.

SIMEDHealth is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Full Time Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team in our Primary Care clinic in our High Springs. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the efficient flow of our clinical operations. Your commitment to customer service, safety, and professionalism will directly impact the patient experience.

What You'll Need:

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or National Certification (preferred)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
• Previous experience (1-2 years) using electronic health records
• At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a private medical office or hospital setting (Primary Care or similar preferred).

Your Role Will Involve:

• Ensuring accurate and complete patient information is readily available in their electronic medical records.
• Welcoming patients to the exam room and efficiently documenting their vital signs in the EHR.
• Serving as a key point of contact for medication refill requests, coordinating between patients and providers.
• Administering prescribed medications (injections, oral, topical) according to your training and qualifications.
• Skillfully assisting with and performing various patient procedures (EKGs, spirometry, dressings, wound care, etc.) based on your expertise and clinic needs.
• Triaging patient phone calls with care and providing helpful responses to their medical inquiries.
• Proactively assisting patients with the often-complex process of referrals and authorizations for procedures and surgeries.
• Performing phlebotomy as needed for patient care.
• Assisting Physician and Advanced Care Providers with patient care and procedures as needed.

This position requires on-site work due to the essential job functions, which include direct patient care and use of on-site medical equipment. Remote work is not available.
