SIMEDHealth is seeking a compassionate Full Time Medical Assistant for our Ocala Physiatry clinic to support patient care and smooth clinical operations.

Responsibilities include accurate EHR documentation, welcoming patients, coordinating medications, and assisting with procedures such as EKGs and wound care, all while maintaining safety and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or National Certification preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• 1–2 years of experience using electronic health records preferred.
• At least one year in a private medical office or hospital setting preferred.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient information in the EHR.
• Welcome patients to the exam room and document vital signs.
• Coordinate between patients and providers for medication refills.
• Administer prescribed medications as trained.
• Assist with procedures (EKGs, spirometry, dressings, wound care).
• Triaging patient calls and responding to medical inquiries.
• Assist with referrals and authorizations for procedures/surgeries.

Join Our Patient-Focused Team as a Full Time Medical Assistant in Ocala!

SIMEDHealth is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Full Time Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team in our Physiatry clinic in our Ocala office. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the efficient flow of our clinical operations. Your commitment to customer service, safety, and professionalism will directly impact the patient experience.

What You'll Need:

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or National Certification (preferred)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
• Previous experience (1-2 years) using electronic health records (preferred)
• At least one year of experience in a private medical office or hospital setting (preferred)
• Bilingual abilities are a plus!

Your Role Will Involve:

• Ensuring accurate and complete patient information is readily available in their electronic medical records
• Welcoming patients to the exam room and efficiently documenting their vital signs in the EHR
• Serving as a key point of contact for medication refill requests, coordinating between patients and providers
• Administering prescribed medications (injections, oral, topical) according to your training and qualifications
• Skillfully assisting with and performing various patient procedures (EKGs, spirometry, dressings, wound care, etc.) based on your expertise and clinic needs
• Triaging patient phone calls with care and providing helpful responses to their medical inquiries
• Proactively assisting patients with the often-complex process of referrals and authorizations for procedures and surgeries

This position requires on-site work due to the essential job functions, which include direct patient care and use of on-site medical equipment. Remote work is not available.
