Job summary

Novato Healthcare Center in Novato, California, seeks a Medical Assistant for a 13-week contract role. This position involves supporting providers with patient care, clinical procedures, and documentation in a clinical setting. Candidates should have a high school diploma, Medical Assistant certification, and current BLS certification. At least 1 year of experience and Epic EMR knowledge are preferred. The role requires 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certification required (NHA, AMCA, or equivalent accredited program).
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association required.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a physician office or clinical setting.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Procedural/reprocessing experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Document symptoms, visit details, and patient information in EMR.
• Administer injections and immunizations as ordered.
• Track test orders and follow up on results.
• Perform POCT testing and quality controls.
• Handle prescription management, referrals, and patient communication.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate medical records.
• Clean and disinfect exam rooms and patient care areas.
• Assist with inventory management and clinic upkeep.
• Follow OSHA and workplace safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer injections and immunizations as ordered
• Track test orders and follow up on results
• Perform POCT testing and quality controls
• Handle prescription management, referrals, and patient communication
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate medical records
• Clean and disinfect exam rooms and patient care areas
• Assist with inventory management and clinic upkeepReprocess scopes/probes and sterilize instruments using autoclave equipment
• Follow OSHA and workplace safety regulations
• Support multiple clinic locations if needed
