Job summary

Baptist Health Medical Group in New Albany, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant for Bariatric Surgery. The role provides direct clinical support, vital signs collection, patient history, and workflow management in a busy primary care setting.

Responsibilities include EPIC documentation, coordinating tests and follow-ups, and performing clinical procedures after competency, such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and injections. A Monday–Friday schedule with first shift opportunity is available.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on clinical experience.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with EPIC or similar EMR is a plus.
• American Heart Association BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical support to physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Obtain vital signs, patient history, and reconcile medications.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with patient flow in the clinic.
• Document patient information accurately in the EPIC EMR.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care.
• Process prescription refills and prior authorizations.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing and specialty procedures.
• After clinical competency, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, laboratory testing, injections.
