Job summary

Gulf South Foot & Ankle, a well-established medical practice, is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team and support podiatry services. You will assist physicians and podiatrists with examinations and procedures, take histories and vitals, prepare exam rooms, educate patients on foot health, and handle scheduling, records, and billing in a collaborative clinic environment.

Certification as a Medical Assistant is required; prior experience in podiatry or a foot health setting is

• Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
• Experience in healthcare, preferably podiatry or foot health, is preferred.
• Proficiency in medical terminology.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Description

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and podiatrists in patient examinations, treatments, and procedures related to foot health.
• Take and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and organization.
• Educate patients on foot health procedures, treatments, and aftercare instructions.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing procedures.
• Sterilize medical equipment and ensure proper stocking of supplies.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in podiatry or foot health.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and basic knowledge of foot-related conditions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures and electronic health record systems
