Job summary

Hanker Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with OB/GYN experience to support providers and patients in a busy outpatient clinic in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and hands-on OB/GYN procedure experience.

You will prepare patients, obtain vital signs, perform venipuncture, assist with PAP tests, colposcopy, LEEP, D&C, EMB, IUD insertions/removals, Nexplanon, NSTs, and keep accurate documentation while upholding safety and privacy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an outpatient clinic setting.
• At least 1 year of OB/GYN experience.
• Strong proficiency with blood draws and venipuncture.
• Hands-on experience with OB/GYN procedures including PAP, Colposcopy, LEEP, D&C, EMB, IUD insertion/removal, Nexplanon, NST.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and provider visits.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information.
• Perform blood draws and venipuncture with accuracy and safety.
• Assist providers with routine and specialized OB/GYN procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and provider visits.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information.
• Perform blood draws, venipuncture, and laboratory specimen collection with accuracy and attention to patient safety.
• Assist providers with routine and specialized OBGYN procedures.
• Prepare patients and examination rooms while maintaining privacy, comfort, and infection‑control standards.
• Assist with PAP tests, colposcopy, LEEP, D&C, EMB, IUD insertions/removals, Nexplanon procedures, and NSTs.
• Ensure appropriate supplies and equipment are available and properly prepared for procedures.
• Collect, label, and process laboratory specimens according to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate relevant patient information to providers.
• Provide professional and compassionate patient care throughout examinations and procedures.
• Follow established clinical, safety, infection‑control, and confidentiality guidelines.
• Float to other areas or clinic locations as needed to support patient care and operational needs.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in an outpatient clinic setting.
• At least 1 year of OBGYN experience.
• Medical Assistant Diploma from a DAPIP‑accredited program.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification through AHA or ARC only.
• Strong proficiency with blood draws and venipuncture.
• Hands‑on experience with the following OBGYN procedures is required:
  • PAP
  • Colposcopy
  • LEEP
  • D&C
  • EMB
  • IUD insertion and removal
  • Nexplanon
  • NST
