Job summary

Arkansas Dermatology in Little Rock is seeking a Medical Assistant/Nurse to support dermatology patients at Baptist Health Campus, Medical Towers 1. The role requires multitasking in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and clinical experience.

You will collect patient histories, assist during exams, perform blood draws and injections, ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance, and maintain accurate electronic charts. Travel for training to other offices may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient advocate during exams and treatment.
• Record medical history and confirm visit purpose.
• Ensure proper documentation prior to treatment.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during procedures.
• Perform or assist with blood draws, injections, wound care as required.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and OSHA practices, update EHR.
• Educate patients and handle follow-up calls as needed.
• Under provider direction, handle prescription refills and pharmacy info.
• Collect, document, and deliver lab specimens.

Job description

Candidates must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate should have clinical experience and a job history exhibiting stability and longevity. This position is located at Baptist Health Campus in Medical Towers 1.

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive:

• Serve as a patient advocate during patient exams and treatment.
• Recording medical history and confirming the purpose of the visit.
• Ensure proper documentation is obtained prior to preparing the patient for treatment.
• Prepares patients for examination.
• Help providers examine and treat patients. Many hands-on elements such as blood draws, injections, wound care, and assisting during procedures are a requirement for this position.
• HIPAA compliance and safe OSHA practices.
• Maintain accurate electronic charts in EHR.
• Patient Education.
• Returning patient phone calls.
• Under provider direction, authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Collecting, documenting, and delivering lab specimens.
