Job summary

Quality Talent Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for a leading Cincinnati-area health network. Duties include assisting physicians, maintaining patient flow, documenting histories and vitals, and handling EMR entries.

You will obtain test results, manage referrals, and support front-desk tasks in a patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate has a Medical Assistant program credential, BLS certification, and strong computer, communication, and clinical skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant program graduate or previous Medical Assisting experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer, communication, and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment of patients under physician supervision.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing medical records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired medications, and order medical supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets and related office tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment for routine tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
