Job summary

Nevada Health Alliance is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with leadership abilities to support both front and back office operations. You will assist providers with clinical procedures, manage patient flow, and perform essential administrative tasks including scheduling, insurance verification, and patient intake.

The role requires proficiency with EHR systems, strong communication, and teamwork in fast-paced settings such as primary care or urgent care.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar healthcare role is required.
  • Familiarity with clinic systems and electronic health records (EHR) is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience with Prior Authorizations.
  • Medial Records Experience.
  • BLS Certification or Certified Medical Assistant desired.
  • Office Laboratory License.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patient visits.
  • Collect, document, and update patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information in the EHR.
  • Administer medications and perform basic clinical tasks as directed by providers.
  • Manage front office operations including patient check-in/check-out, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and processing referrals or authorizations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Support daily clinic workflow to optimize patient care and provider efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members, demonstrating knowledge of medical terminology and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on quality care and patient satisfaction.
