Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and six months of related medical experience.
• Must obtain and maintain BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for medical examinations and procedures.
• Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
• Assist Providers with tasks during patient visits.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and collect specimens as instructed.
• Administer medications and injections under supervision.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation.
• Maintain nursing stations and examination areas per OSHA standards.
• Answer and screen phone calls.
• Exhibits courtesy and poise with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Perform X-Ray and EKG (training is provided).
• Assist Occupational Medicine staff with urine specimens as needed.
• Performs other related duties assigned by management.

Under direct supervision, the Medical Assistant will join our esteemed organization in a high and professional manner. The Medical Assistant will assist healthcare providers in preparing patients for examinations, collecting vital signs and medical histories, administering medications and injections as directed, and maintaining patient records in compliance with regulations. • Exhibits a high degree of courtesy and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Perform X-Ray and EKG (training is provided)
• Assist Occupational Medicine staff with Urine Specimens as needed.
• Performs other related duties assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED AND six months of related experience in a medical setting. Must obtain and maintain BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong charting/documentation skills.
• Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Frequently required to walk, sit, and stand.
• Occasionally exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
• Occasionally required to travel for training purposes and attend at least two community clinic events each year.
