Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support providers and deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will greet patients, document vital signs, and help ensure a smooth patient experience with a strong emphasis on customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience working as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred.
  • Bilingual language skills preferred; ability to communicate effectively with patients and families in English and one additional language.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients, verify patient identity, and obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure they are clean, well-stocked, and ready for patient visits throughout the day.
  • Assist healthcare providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments while maintaining a focus on patient comfort and safety.
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as measuring vital signs, conducting point-of-care tests, and collecting specimens in accordance with clinic protocols and regulations.
  • Support patient flow by coordinating check-in and check-out, helping to manage wait times, and communicating updates to patients and providers.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering patient questions, addressing concerns, and helping patients navigate their visit with professionalism and empathy.
  • Use bilingual language skills to facilitate clear, respectful communication with patients and families who have limited English proficiency.
  • Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) and maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and clinic policies.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and coordinating follow-up care as directed.
  • Collaborate with providers, nurses, and fellow medical assistants as a proactive team player to support daily clinic operations.
  • Take initiative to identify and resolve issues that affect patient care, clinic flow, or patient satisfaction in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control, safety procedures, and organizational policies at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement efforts, and staff meetings to support continuous improvement in patient care and clinic efficiency.

About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Medical Assistant department in an hourly, full-time position. In this fast-paced clinical setting, you will play a key role in supporting providers, delivering high-quality patient care, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. This role requires a strong focus on customer service and patient care, the ability to multi-task and take initiative, and a team-first mindset.
