Job summary

McIver Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the perioperative team with patient preparation, room setup, and clinical documentation. You will assist providers during examinations and procedures while ensuring privacy and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, recording medical history, maintaining infection-control standards, and EMR documentation. A high school diploma and CPR are required; an MA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• At least one year of medical office experience preferred.
• Urology experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with Allscripts or another electronic health record (EHR) system preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for evaluation by the provider.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and the reason for the patient's visit.
• Prepare and organize procedure rooms, instruments, and supplies for in-office procedures in accordance with infection-control protocols.
• Assist physicians with examinations, minor office procedures, and other clinical duties within the scope of the role and applicable requirements.
• Maintain patient privacy and comply with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
• Maintain clean, organized, and stocked exam rooms and clinical work areas.
• Accurately document patient information in the EMR system.
• Provide professional and compassionate patient care while supporting a positive patient experience.
• Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice.
• Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule.

Job Overview

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CPR certification required.
