Coastal Health's Spine & Pain team seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to support providers and the clinical team in delivering high-quality care to patients with spine- and pain-related conditions.

The role involves greeting patients, recording histories and vital signs, assisting with examinations, and maintaining exam rooms to ensure efficient clinic flow and high standards of patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients in a professional and compassionate manner.

  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare treatment and procedure rooms and maintain supply stock.
  • Coordinate patient flow and manage scheduling, referrals, and records.
  • Document patient information accurately in the EMR and communicate follow-up care.

Medical Assistant – Spine & PainCoastal Health | Spine & PainCoastal Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Spine & Pain team. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional, and passionate about providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.Position SummaryThe Medical Assistant will support our providers and clinical team in delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing spine and pain-related conditions. This position will work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure an efficient and positive patient experience.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and room patients in a professional and compassionate mannerObtain and document patient medical histories, medications, vital signs, and other clinical informationAssist providers with examinations and proceduresPrepare treatment and procedure roomsCoordinate patient flow and help maintain efficient clinic operationsAssist with scheduling, referrals, and obtaining necessary medical recordsDocument patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)Communicate with patients regarding appointments, instructions, and follow-up careAssist with injections and other office-based procedures as directed and within scope of practiceMaintain cleanliness, organization, and appropriate supplies in clinical areasFollow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and office safety standardsProvide exceptional customer service and maintain patient confidentialityPerform other clinical and administrative duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMedical Assistant certification preferredPrevious medical office or clinical experience preferredExperience in orthopedics, pain management, neurology, or a similar specialty is a plusKnowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical proceduresStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational and time-management abilitiesAbility to work effectively as part of a teamProfessional, dependable, and patient-focusedComfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environmentWhat We’re Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to patient care.
