CenterWell Senior Primary Care in Humble, TX is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support providers and the Care Team. You will prep exam rooms, take vital signs, document histories, assist with examinations and minor procedures, and help manage patient flow.

Qualifications

  • Proficient medical assisting and daily clinical workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology for accurate documentation.
  • Experience in a medical office with appointment support and multidisciplinary care.
  • Direct patient care including vital signs and activities of daily living as needed.
  • Ability to manage medical records with accuracy and confidentiality in EHR systems.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification or registration preferred.
  • Current BLS or CPR certification or willingness to obtain within timeframe.

CenterWell Senior Primary Care is a network of one-stop doctor's offices dedicated to providing comprehensive care for Medicare and Medicare Advantage patients, with a strong focus on senior primary care. Each center features a cross-disciplinary Care Team that includes physicians, care coaches, behavioral health specialists, clinical pharmacists, and other professionals who deliver holistic, 24/7 support. Locations are designed around the unique needs of older adults, offering longer appointments, shorter wait times, specialized exam rooms, convenient access to specialists, and critical on-site services such as pharmacies. In addition, on-site activity centers help patients and local seniors stay socially and physically active, supporting healthy aging. CenterWell's team-based approach aims to treat each patient as a whole person, addressing medical, emotional, and social needs to improve overall health outcomes.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Medical Assistant role based in Humble, TX. The Medical Assistant supports providers and the Care Team by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and assisting with examinations and minor procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing patient flow, updating and organizing medical records, coordinating lab work and diagnostic tests, and ensuring accurate documentation in the medical office systems. The role also involves providing patient-centered support, such as explaining procedures, reinforcing care plans, and assisting with follow-up appointments and referrals. The Medical Assistant helps maintain a safe, clean clinical environment and collaborates closely with clinical and administrative team members to deliver efficient, compassionate care to senior patients.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Assisting, including supporting examinations, procedures, and daily clinical workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately communicate and document patient information and care plans.
  • Experience in a Medical Office setting, including appointment support, coordination of services, and interaction with a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Skilled in direct Patient Care, such as obtaining vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living as needed, and providing clear, respectful communication.
  • Ability to manage Medical Records with accuracy and confidentiality, including electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification or registration as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to serving senior patients with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based care model and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.
