Job summary

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately understand, document, and communicate clinical information.
• Experience in a Medical Office environment, including appointment support, patient flow coordination, and basic administrative tasks.
• Proficiency in managing Medical Records, including electronic health records (EHR) documentation, data accuracy, and privacy compliance.

Role Description

The Medical Assistant at CenterWell Senior Primary Care in Portsmouth, VA is a full-time, on-site role supporting high-quality care for senior patients. This role includes rooming patients, recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and assisting clinicians during examinations and minor procedures. The Medical Assistant helps manage medical records, prepares and maintains exam rooms, and ensures proper documentation in the electronic health record system. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve coordinating patient flow, supporting medication reconciliation, and communicating clearly with patients and the Care Team. The role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented approach and a commitment to working collaboratively in a senior-focused care environment.
