Job summary

Maria Parham Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our busy general surgery team under Lifepoint Health. In this role you will perform basic diagnostic procedures, collect specimens, document patient care, and support a fast-paced clinic with a patient-centered approach.

You will work in a collaborative environment with physicians, nurses, and staff, providing compassionate service, accurate data entry, and timely patient registration.

Qualifications

  • Must obtain CMA/RMA/CCMA within 60 days of hire.
  • BLS certification within 30 days.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given. Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains examination areas; handles filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
  • Exhibits exceptional customer service with patients and teammates.

Our team includes physicians, nurses, certified medical assistants, patient service representatives, and referral specialists who work together to support patients from consultation through post-operative recovery. How You'll Contribute

Requirements
  • License: CMA or RMA or CCMA via the AAMA or NHA must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred; Associate's degree Preferred
