Job summary

Maria Parham Health, part of LifePoint Health, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our busy general surgery practice team. You will support patient care under the supervision of an RN and help ensure comfort, safety and timely service throughout the unit.

Ideal candidates hold a CNA certification, a current BLS certification and a high school diploma (preferred). Join us to grow professionally while delivering compassionate care in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant Certification required
  • Basic Life Support certification required
  • High School diploma preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic patient care as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, ambulation).
  • Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
  • Keeps patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and appropriately stocked.
  • Manages the tech desk; supports nursing/physician staff and department throughput.
  • Documents care and activities per unit standards.

Join our busy general surgery practice with three experienced surgeons dedicated to providing high-quality surgical care to patients throughout our community. Our team includes physicians, nurses, certified medical assistants, patient service representatives, and referral specialists who work together to support patients from consultation through post-operative recovery. We care for a wide variety of surgical conditions and procedures while focusing on patient education, safety, and exceptional service. How you'll contribute

A Certified Nursing Assistant who excels in this role:

Requirements:

Basic Life Support certification is required.

High School diploma preferred.

Certified Nursing Assistant Certification required
