Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is hiring a Medical Assistant in Illinois. The role supports the dermatologist in the exam room, rooms patients, and helps maintain an efficient patient flow. You will assist with wound care, blood draws, scribing, and exam room readiness.

Full-time position with a multi-location care team. Strong computer skills and certification maintenance are required; travel to other clinics may be needed. Competitive benefits offered including 401K and life/disability coverages.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred.
• Must keep current on state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment.
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems.
• Must possess organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: biopsies, excisions, Mohs surgery, injections, etc.

Monday 9:00a-5:00p

Tuesday 8:00a-5:00p

Wednesday 9:00a-5:00p

Thursday 9:00a-5:00p

Friday 8:00a-3:00p

Saturday 7:00a-12:00p - once a month

The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred

For this position, the base pay range is $18.00 - $21.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, certification, or training
