Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs.
• Set up and maintain exam and treatment rooms, preparing and sterilizing instruments and managing supplies.
• Administer injections, assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians with pre‑operative preparations for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Answer telephone calls to the practice and screen for referrals.

Qualifications

• One year of medical assisting or direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
• Medical Assistant Certification required (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA, ABR‑OE). Recent graduates must obtain certification within 60 days of employment. Candidates without certification must obtain within one year of hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy clinical environment.
