Job summary

A healthcare provider in Fort Collins, Colorado is seeking a medical assistant to provide general medical care under the guidance of a licensed provider. The role focuses on ensuring the best healthcare for patients in an outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include obtaining patient vitals, administering treatments, and maintaining accurate documentation. Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent; or six months to one-year related experience.
  • AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and prepare the patient for exams.
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and timely.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to procedures.
  • Draw blood and prepare labs for processing.
  • Perform lab tests and equipment maintenance as instructed.
  • Respond to lab messages and call back requests.
  • Perform drug screening procedures according to established rules.
  • Ensure patient immunizations are documented and administered correctly.
  • Conduct physician referrals as needed.
  • Prepare exam rooms and sterilize instruments for procedures.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants preferred

Job Summary

Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting. This position works with a specific focus of providing the best healthcare possible. Must want to be a difference maker and positive influence in the care of our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
  • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
  • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis
  • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
